Whole School Camp 2024

What an incredible two days of outdoor education we had with Craftlab! We immersed ourselves in nature and learned some fantastic traditional skills.

Here's a glimpse of our adventure:

Traditional Craft: We delved into the world of Māori craftsmanship, mastering the art of rope making with flax and igniting fires using flint and steel.
Campfire Cooking: We indulged in delicious donuts cooked over an open campfire – a true taste of the outdoors!
Camping Under the Stars: We pitched our tents and prepared for a night under the beautiful Ōrere sky.
Ngahere Adventures: We navigated the challenging and exciting Burma trails through the Ngahere forest.
Campfire Fun: We enjoyed heartwarming campfire songs, toasted marshmallows, and shared stories and laughter.
Ōrere Talent Show: We showcased the incredible talents of our students with a fantastic Ōrere talent show!
Nature's Delights: We embraced the beauty of our surroundings, swimming in the refreshing water hole and savoring delicious pizza from our pizza oven.
We are so fortunate to have such an amazing environment here at Ōrere, and it was a privilege to experience it to the fullest. These experiences build resilience, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for nature.
